Typically in a divorce involving children, parents spend a great deal of time working out a child custody agreement. Many parents also tackle big-item expenses for the children such as college tuition. However, most parents fail to address how the everyday and future costs associated with raising their children will be split.
The truth is that raising children is expensive and it can be frustrating if one parent feels like he or she is taking on the brunt of the expenses. If unsettled, these issues could even force the couple back in court, which no one wants. To avoid this, experts advise to prepare for every scenario and put everything in writing in the custody agreement.
